History

Ruins is founded in May 1999.

Between 2000 and 2002, Ruins performs on various gigs, including an invitation of Cui Jian to play on his Snow Mountain Festival.

In May 2000, 2001 and 2002 Ruins plays on the Midi Modern Music Festival.

In December 2001 participation in "The 1st Shenzhen Rock & Roll Music Festival", "Kunming Contemporary Music Festival", as well as tours in Wuhan and Chengdu.

Ruins is twiced awarded as Best Alternative Domestic Band by the magazine "Pop Song" (“Tongsu Gequ”).

January 2002, Ruins is interviewed by the "Contemporary Art – Listen" magazine with whom they release their demo Floating at the Verge.

February 2002, Ruins opens for a gig of Cui Jian and Tang Dynasty at Tianjin.

In late fall 2002, Ruins signs a treaty with the Pu Lay Talent Agency, but terminates the agreement in 2004 to sign a contract with Badhead Records (a Modern Sky subsidiary).

In the end of December 2004, Ruins releases their official first album called Glide like a leaf (像叶子一样飞).

In October 2005, they performed during the Midi Music Festival 2005.
