Background

After more than one year editing band pages at rockinchina.com Yang and Azchael decided to go the next step of information management: A database that indexes all important band information for a reliable and fast search, sorting and filtering of all band data.

Now a band database is set up with the following fields:

id - As primary key

BandEN - The English band name

BandCN - The Chinese Pin Yin band name

Link - The link to the respective band info data page

Genre - The band's genre. Available main genre's (Rock, Metal, Punk, Electro, HipHop). Subgenre's are separated by ":", e.g. Metal : Death

City - Band's origin city, e.g. Shanghai, Beijing

Since - Year of forming, e.g. 1998, 2000

Status - What is the status of the band, e.g. "renamed", "split", "active", "signed"
