Cut at Waist, Yao Zhan

History

Yao Zhan (translated: Cut in two halfs at the waist, a kind of execution) was founded in 1999 by guitar player Sun Bing and He Wang, but due to a lack of other members couldn't start up.

2003, the bassist of Cause of Death and the drummer of Cankered Corpse joined Yao Zhan and enabled them to start rehearsing and wrote their first song: Head Dehiscence.

Between April and May 2003 17-year old Zhang Ye joined as lead vocal together with drummer Feng He.

Half a year rehearsing, writing and playing Yao Zhan finished three main songs: "Head Dehiscence","Slaughters" and "Internal hemorrhage". With these three songs Yao Zhan started to perform in Xi'an Underground concerts, mostly at the 8 1/2 bar.

In October 2003 Yao Zhan and people of Mort Production meet to help recording their songs. In November 2003 Mort Production and Yao Zhan sign a treaty for the release of their song on the upcoming compilation CD "China Runs Blood" that is going to be released soon.
