History

The band was formed originally in October 2001 under the name "Hua Pi" and is still playing after various changes of their setup.

Renaming themselves to "Clockwork Orange" in 2003, the lineup consisted of Darkchain on the vocals, Bunnyman on the guitars, Funky Orange on the bass guitar and Xie Wei on the drums. Fancying music from bands such as placebo, bauhaus, devo, iggy pop, new order, depeche mode, cake and televison, they adjusted their musical style to those alike. Darkchain and Bunnyman were mostly responsible for song writing.

On April 23rd, 2003, Clockwork Orange performs in the ARK club. Shortly after Xie Wei leaves the band and is replaced by 0077 as drummer.

On July 19th the same year, the band joins the 3rd anniversary party of the SUS2 Music Factory.

On September 6th Clockwork Orange plays in the ARK club again.

In the second half of 2003, 0077 joins the band Slit

In Spring 2004, Bunnyman leaves the band, so that in March only Darkchain (voc), Funky Orange (bass) and a new drummer remain. Eventually another guitarist joins. Up to July the lineup changed again and sticked with Darkchain (voc), Cheney (guitar), Eddy (bass) and Jiaqi on drums.

On October 31st, the band plays live with P.K. 14 from Beijing in the ARK club.

On December 4th, Clockwork Orange also participated in Yu Yin Tang's special concert Give live a Chance, for which Clockwork Orange covered the Beatles Song "Beautiful Boy". This cover song is also available on the Give Live a Chance - A tribute to John Lennon, that is sold exclusively by Yu Yin Tang Music for 15 RMB.
